When planted, displays a copy selection of all seeds in the current lineup. The planted copy gains 50% bonus toughness compared to the original plant and costs 20% less sun. The Diamond Imitater itself is consumed on use, same as the regular Imitater.
Diamond Imitater is an upgraded Imitater that copies any plant in your seed lineup at 80% of the original sun cost, while the copy gains 50% bonus toughness. This makes it ideal for copying expensive but essential plants - copying a Cob Cannon seed gives you a third cannon at lower cost, or copying a Wall-nut gives you a bonus wall with 1.5x survivability. The key advantage over standard Imitater is the toughness bonus, which is most valuable when copying defensive plants. A Diamond Imitater copy of Tall Nut has 1.5x the normal toughness, making it one of the hardest barriers in the game. In Survival Mode, use it to copy your most cost-efficient plant each round. In Endless Mode, copy Melon-pult or Cob Cannon to maintain burst output without spending full price. The 8-second recharge is slightly longer than normal Imitater, reflecting the bonus benefits.
Diamond Imitater has no direct combat role - it copies another plant, which then fights as normal. Its best matchup depends entirely on which plant it copies. Copy Melon-pult against dense lanes, Wall-nut against breaches, or Squash against Gargantuars.
