Details
Every 4 seconds, fires a burst of golden petals dealing 45 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area centered on its tile. After each burst, all plants within the 3x3 area gain a 2-second divine shield that blocks one instance of incoming damage.
Chrysanctum is a center-tile powerhouse that deals area damage and grants brief divine shields to adjacent plants after each burst. Place it in the center column so its 3x3 burst radius covers the maximum number of tiles. The divine shield lasts 2 seconds per activation, which is short but enough to block one zombie attack from connecting with a plant. In Survival Mode, Chrysanctum anchors the midfield by dealing 45 damage to all zombies in its 3x3 radius every 4 seconds while keeping adjacent defenders protected from one hit per burst cycle. Pair with high-toughness wall plants to maximize the shield value - a shielded Tall-nut regenerates the shielded hit as a bonus effective-toughness buffer. In Endless Mode, Chrysanctum is a premium mid-tile investment that offloads burst coverage from cherry bombs and area plants, freeing them for emergencies.
Chrysanctum is most effective against dense 3x3 zombie clusters that rush the midfield. Flag waves in Adventure Mode that fill a 3x3 zone with varied zombie types take heavy burst damage from each petal cycle. The divine shield keeps adjacent plants alive through zombie melee contact during those rush seconds.
Strengths
3x3 area burst hits up to 9 tiles per activation
Divine shield on adjacent plants after each burst provides meaningful protection
Targets both ground and aerial zombies in the blast zone
900 toughness makes it durable as a midfield anchor
175 Sun cost is reasonable for dual offense-support utility
Weaknesses
4-second burst interval means gaps between protection windows
Divine shield only lasts 2 seconds and blocks only one hit
Requires center placement to maximize 3x3 radius coverage
Less effective in stages where zombies travel in single lanes rather than spreads
Cannot function as a solo defender without offensive plants supporting it
1 Place in the center column and center row to maximize the 3x3 burst coverage
2 Surround with Tall-nut or Wall-nut so each divine shield absorbs a melee hit and preserves wall toughness
3 Combine with Fume Shroom for continuous area damage layered on the burst cycle
4 In Endless Mode, use Chrysanctum as your mid-anchor and flank it with lobbers for sustained lane coverage
5 Use Pumpkin shell on Chrysanctum itself so it can survive longer and deliver more burst cycles
