Details
Once charged, can be manually targeted anywhere on the grid, firing an explosive cob that deals 900 damage to all zombies in a 3x5 area. Aerial zombies within the blast zone are also affected. After firing, begins a new 3-turn charge cycle automatically.
Cob Cannon is the most powerful area weapon in PvZ Fusion, capable of clearing entire zombie swarms with one targeted shot. It requires converting two adjacent Kernel-pults into the cannon at a total cost of 500 Sun, then charges over 3 turns before being ready to fire. Target your shot at the densest zombie cluster on the grid for maximum efficiency - the 3x5 blast zone covers 15 tiles simultaneously. In Survival Hard, Cob Cannon is the backbone of endgame builds because no wave can survive a full-charge blast to its densest column. Keep it charged and fire it during large flag waves rather than wasting it on small groups. Pair with Kernel-pult to stun zombies in the target zone just before firing to prevent fast-movers from escaping the blast. In Endless Mode, maintain two Cob Cannons in alternating charge cycles so you always have one ready to fire during any wave. The 1200 toughness ensures it survives moderate pressure without constant replacement.
Cob Cannon is the definitive counter to Gargantuar rushes and dense flag waves. The 900-damage 3x5 blast can kill or severely weaken multiple Gargantuars simultaneously. Any zombie cluster regardless of type or toughness is vulnerable to a direct Cob Cannon hit.
Strengths
900 damage in a 3x5 area is the highest area burst in the game
Can be targeted anywhere on the grid for maximum flexibility
Aerial zombies in the zone are also affected
1200 toughness keeps it durable in rear columns
Two Cob Cannons in alternating cycles ensure constant area fire availability
Weaknesses
Requires 500 Sun and two Kernel-pults to build - very high investment
3-turn charge cycle creates periods of no fire during the charge
Two-tile footprint reduces planting flexibility
Zombies can breach during charge cycles requiring backup plants
Cannot be refunded to Kernel-pults once converted
1 Always maintain two Cob Cannons in alternating charge cycles so one is always ready
2 Fire at the densest zombie cluster on the grid each cycle for maximum value
3 Pair with Kernel-pult to stun zombies in the target zone just before firing
4 Use Cherry Bomb as backup for emergency clearing during Cob Cannon charge cycles
5 In Last Stand Mode, prioritize two Cob Cannons as your primary damage investment
