Spikeweed

Spikeweed – Classic Ground Trap Plant.

Spikeweed is the classic ground-trap plant in PvZ Fusion that damages every zombie walking over it with no attack cooldown. When you need a passive damage source that never needs to reload, Spikeweed PvZ Fusion is always a reliable pick.

What is Spikeweed?

Spikeweed PvZ Fusion lies flat on the ground and spikes every zombie that walks across it, dealing consistent damage on each step. It has no fire animation, no projectile, and no reload — it simply spikes anything that touches it as long as it stays alive.

Its passive nature makes Spikeweed excellent alongside active attackers. While your projectile plants deal damage from range, Spikeweed PvZ Fusion ensures any zombie that slips through still takes constant damage from the ground. Even in the endgame it remains useful as a first column defensive carpet that every zombie has to walk through.

How to Get Spikeweed

Spikeweed PvZ Fusion unlocks after completing the Pool chapter in Adventure Mode. It is available as a permanent seed packet from that unlock point forward.

Abilities

  • Continuous Spiking: Deals damage to any zombie on its tile every fraction of a second without any attack interval, making it a constant damage source against slow-moving zombies.
  • Vehicle Slow: Zombie vehicles like zambonis and bobsleds are slowed when they drive over Spikeweed PvZ Fusion, though unlike Spikerock, they are not destroyed.

Tips and Tricks

  • Place Spikeweed PvZ Fusion in your first two columns as a passive damage carpet that every zombie must walk through before reaching your main defense.
  • Spikeweed PvZ Fusion works especially well with Kernel-pult since a butter-stunned zombie sitting on a Spikeweed tile takes repeated damage during the stun duration.
  • Upgrade to Spikerock PvZ Fusion as soon as available — the damage increase and vehicle destruction make Spikerock a strict upgrade.
  • Use multiple Spikeweeds PvZ Fusion per lane in early Survival levels to create a damage buffer that reduces pressure on your blockers.
  • Spikeweed PvZ Fusion is particularly good on Night levels where you may have fewer sun-generating plants and need passive damage sources that do not cost activation sun.
