Details
Deals 20 damage to every ground zombie that walks over it. Degrades by one layer when a vehicle-type zombie (Zomboni, Catapult) runs over it. Standard zombie contact never degrades it. Destroys vehicle tracks and ice paths before they can form. Stacks with Spikeweed in the same tile.
Spikerock is a permanently placed contact-damage tile that deals 20 damage to every zombie stepping on it indefinitely. Unlike Spikeweed which degrades after vehicle hits, Spikerock has effectively unlimited capacity against standard zombies but loses one toughness layer per vehicle that runs it over. In Survival Mode, a row of Spikerocks across all lanes creates a permanent damage field that continuously chips at any zombie advancing through the area. Against standard zombies, Spikerock never degrades and functions as a damage multiplier for any lane it is placed in. In Endless Mode, maintain Spikerocks in the front three columns for permanent contact damage supplementing your offensive plants. Pair with Magnet-shroom to strip armor before zombies walk over spikes, dramatically increasing effective damage on armored types.
Spikerock is the ultimate counter to Zomboni and Catapult Zombie vehicles since it destroys their tracks before they can freeze or pave the lane. For standard zombies, it provides permanent contact damage that never needs replacement.
Strengths
Never degrades from standard zombie contact - permanently effective
20 damage per zombie contact provides consistent passive lane damage
Destroys vehicle tracks preventing Zomboni ice paths
Stacks with Spikeweed for doubled contact damage in same tile
Unlimited lifespan against standard zombie types
Weaknesses
Aerial and underground zombies bypass contact activation entirely
Vehicle zombies degrade Spikerock layers over time
Cannot target ranged or projectile-attacking zombies from a distance
125 Sun is moderate and multiple Spikerocks across all lanes adds up
Zero contribution in stages without ground-contact zombies
1 Place in the front three columns for early contact damage on every zombie entering your grid
2 Pair with Magnet-shroom to strip armor before zombies reach the spikes for maximum damage effectiveness
3 Stack with Spikeweed in the same tile for combined 30 contact damage per zombie pass
4 In Endless Mode, maintain Spikerocks in front columns permanently as a passive damage foundation
5 Use Spikerock in Zomboni-heavy stages to destroy ice tracks before they create frozen lanes
