It is most valuable as an emergency reset when zombie density overwhelms your defenses. In Survival Mode, keep Ice-shroom as your panic button for moments when multiple lanes are simultaneously threatened. In Endless Mode, pair Ice-shroom with Cherry Bomb: freeze everything with Ice-shroom then immediately detonate Cherry Bomb into the densest cluster for maximum free-hit damage during the freeze window. At 75 Sun it is extremely cost-efficient for full-grid freezing. Works without Coffee Bean in Night stages making it even more valuable in mushroom builds.
Ice-shroom is universally effective - every zombie type on the grid is frozen. Most valuable against simultaneous multi-lane rushes and Gargantuar appearances where 5 seconds of free-fire time allows your entire plant grid to deal uncontested damage.
