Details
Each hamburger bun hit applies one slow stack to the target zombie. At 3 stacks, the zombie enters a full movement stop for 2 seconds, then the stack count resets. Slow stacks decay at 1 per 4 seconds if no new hits land. The stop does not affect flying or boss-type zombies.
Burger-shooter is a fast-firing offensive plant that trades per-shot damage for attack speed and a unique stacking slow mechanic. Each hamburger bun deals 25 damage and applies one slow stack to the target. At 3 stacks the zombie is fully stopped for 2 seconds, creating a reliable crowd-control window for heavier hitters like Melon-pult or Cob Cannon to land high-damage shots. In Adventure Mode, place Burger-shooter in the mid-lane backed by a heavy lobber for a slow-then-burst combo. In Survival Hard, four Burger-shooters across alternate lanes create a grid-wide slow field that prevents fast zombies from reaching your plants. Pair with Kernel-pult, as the butter stun combined with the full stop creates a 5-second lockdown window. In Endless Mode, Burger-shooter is most effective in lanes 2 and 4 where zombie density is highest. The 1.2-second attack interval means it cycles damage quickly and applies slow stacks faster than most plants with similar cost.
Burger-shooter is most effective against fast-moving zombies that would otherwise outrun slower plants. Newspaper Zombies in rage mode, Flag Zombies, and any sprint-speed variant accumulate slow stacks quickly because their speed keeps them in the shooter fire arc longer. Football Zombies with high toughness are also excellent targets, as the slow stacks control their advance while higher-damage plants focus them down.
Strengths
1.2-second attack interval provides fast damage output
Slow stacks create reliable crowd-control windows for heavy hitters
Full movement stop at 3 stacks lasts 2 seconds
125 Sun cost is moderate for a fast attacker with CC
800 toughness gives it survivability above average for its cost
Weaknesses
Low 25 damage per bun requires many hits to kill tough zombies alone
Cannot reach aerial or underground enemies
Full stop does not affect flying or boss-type zombies
Slow stacks decay if fire is interrupted making sustained fire critical
Relies on heavy hitters behind it to capitalize on the slow window
1 Always back Burger-shooter with Melon-pult or Cob Cannon to burst down stopped zombies
2 Use Kernel-pult alongside it - butter stun plus full stop creates up to 5 seconds of lockdown
3 In Endless Mode, place in lanes 2 and 4 where density is highest to stack slows on the most targets
4 Do not use against aerial waves - carry Cactus or Cattail for those
5 Pair with Torchwood if you want to add fire damage to each bun hit for extra DPS
