Details
Each cabbage throw follows a split-arc trajectory, striking the primary target for full damage and a secondary target within 1 tile of the first for 45 damage (50% of base). The split-hit is triggered automatically whenever two zombies are within arc range at the moment of launch.
Arteris Cabbage is a premium lobber for mid-to-late stage play, bridging the gap between Cabbage-pult and Cob Cannon in both cost and output. Its dual-hit arc means one throw can chunk two zombies in the same lane column, which is exceptionally efficient against tightly packed formations. In Survival Mode, place it in columns 5 or 6 to ensure the arc lands well into the zombie spawn zone, maximizing the chance that two targets are in range simultaneously. Pair with Torchwood in the same lane to add a fire proc to every cabbage, boosting damage per throw significantly. In Last Stand scenarios where sun is preset, always invest in at least two Arteris Cabbages to anchor rear firepower. The plant has above-average toughness for a lobber, so it can survive an occasional zombie breach without immediate replacement. In Endless Mode, four Arteris Cabbages spread across alternate lanes create overlapping arcs that cover gaps where single-lane plants would otherwise miss. Avoid front-row placement since it is a lob attacker that functions best with lane depth behind it.
Arteris Cabbage is most effective against dense column formations where two or more zombies stand within a tile of each other. Zombie clusters in later Adventure stages and Survival Hard waves are prime targets because the dual-hit arc can chunk pairs of Buckethead or Football Zombies simultaneously. Gargantuar variants flanked by regular zombies are ideal, as the primary hit lands on the giant while the secondary punishes its escort.
Strengths
Dual-hit arc punishes clustered formations efficiently
Higher toughness than standard lobbers
Torchwood synergy applies fire to both hits
Covers full lane depth from the back row
175 Sun cost is reasonable for a dual-attack lobber
Weaknesses
Cannot target aerial enemies despite the lob trajectory
Secondary hit deals only 50% of base damage
Requires two zombies in proximity to fully use its ability
Slow attack interval of 3.5 seconds risks gaps in coverage
Needs Torchwood support to reach its full offensive ceiling
1 Always back Arteris Cabbage with Torchwood in the same lane to ignite both primary and secondary hits
2 Place in column 5 or 6 to land arcs in the densest part of incoming waves
3 Use Kernel-pult alongside it to stun zombies in place so the dual-hit arc can connect reliably
4 In Last Stand, prioritize two Arteris Cabbages before investing in economy plants
5 Pair with Cattail to handle aerial threats that Arteris Cabbage cannot reach
