Details
Every 4 seconds, Aqua Aloe emits a hydration pulse that restores 40 toughness to each plant in the same row and applies a 15% movement-speed reduction to any zombie currently within adjacent tiles. The slow effect lasts 2 seconds and does not stack from multiple Aqua Aloes.
Aqua Aloe excels as a mid-lane support anchor in water-heavy stages and long Survival runs. Its hydration pulse restores a small amount of toughness to every plant sharing its row, making it invaluable when paired with high-toughness defenders. Place it in the middle row so its aura reaches both the front-line tank and the rear shooter. In Endless Mode, Aqua Aloe becomes increasingly effective as zombie density climbs, since the slow field it generates buys extra seconds for your offensive plants to whittle down rush waves. Combine with Tall Nut or Pumpkin in the front column to create a self-healing barrier that is difficult for melee-heavy waves to breach. Its low sun cost of 75 makes it easy to slot in early without disrupting your economy. Avoid placing it alone at the front, as it has modest toughness and deals minimal damage on its own. Pair with Cattail or Melon-pult behind it for full lane coverage. In Odyssey Mode, Aqua Aloe shines in levels that periodically flood the grid, since its water synergy increases the pulse frequency during flooded turns, giving your defenders near-continuous restoration.
Aqua Aloe performs best against slow, melee-focused zombie types that spend extended time in adjacent tiles. Standard Zombies and Conehead Zombies walk directly into the slow field and linger long enough for the hydration pulse to benefit nearby plants multiple times. Armored variants like Buckethead Zombies are also good targets because their high health means they remain in the slow zone through several pulse cycles, reducing their threat to the front line. Gargantuar variants are partially neutralized by the movement slow, giving offensive plants extra time to deal damage before the giant reaches critical lanes.
Strengths
Low 75 Sun cost fits any early build
Hydration pulse heals the entire row passively
Moisture slow field softens fast-moving zombies
Water-level synergy doubles pulse frequency
Works in any row without limiting placement options
Weaknesses
Very low damage output of 8 per hit
Slow effect does not stack from multiple copies
Cannot target aerial or swimming enemies
Requires adjacent high-toughness plants to shine
Pulse healing is too small to matter without multiple activations
1 Place in column 3 or 4 so the pulse reaches both your tank and your second-row shooters
2 Pair with Pumpkin shells on front-row plants to multiply the value of each toughness restoration
3 In water levels, plant two in parallel lanes to keep the slow field wide
4 Do not rely on it as your only support - combine with Marigold for economy and healing balance
5 Use the Imitater copy in a second lane to double slow coverage without extra cost
