Details

Metal Melon is an upgraded melon plant encased in a metallic shell that dramatically increases both its projectile impact and its own durability. Its metallic melons deal heavy damage on impact and can pierce through standard zombie armor, making it especially effective against shielded or armored enemy types.

The metal casing also gives Metal Melon a secondary attribute — its projectiles cause knockback, staggering zombies on hit and pushing them back slightly toward the edge of the lane. This delay effect is subtle but meaningful during large waves, buying other plants additional time to fire.

Metal Melon is an Upgraded variant that benefits from the base Melon-pult skill tree, meaning plants in its fusion chain can be further enhanced with upgrade tokens. Its combination of armor penetration and knockback makes it one of the stronger single-target melon options available in its tier.

Pros
Cons
Metal projectiles penetrate armor, making it effective against shielded zombie types
Knockback effect provides minor crowd control during dense waves
Higher toughness than base melon plants due to metal casing
Does not provide the wide splash of standard melon-pult variants
Knockback does not eliminate zombies, only delay them
Upgraded status may require unlocking the base plant tier first
1 Use Metal Melon specifically in levels with heavy armored zombie presence to exploit its armor-piercing projectiles.
2 Pair with splash-damage plants to complement Metal Melon's single-target armor penetration.
3 Take advantage of the knockback to create small time gaps during wave surges, allowing your defense more firing cycles.
4 Upgrade Metal Melon through the melon plant chain to further amplify its damage against late-game zombie types.
QDoes Metal Melon deal splash damage like regular Melon-pult?
Metal Melon focuses on single-target armor-piercing hits rather than splash, making it better suited against heavy individual targets.
QWhat does the knockback effect do?
It staggers and pushes zombies backward slightly on each hit, providing a small delay bonus that gives your other plants additional attack time.
QIs Metal Melon worth choosing over regular Melon-pult?
Against armored zombie types, Metal Melon is superior. For general crowd control against normal zombie groups, regular Melon-pult's splash remains more efficient.
