Details

Melon Pot functions as a planting platform, inheriting the Flower Pot’s ability to support other plants on tiles that normally reject planting — including roof slopes, water surfaces, and other restricted terrain. Its melon trait adds minor passive offense: any zombie walking directly over it takes contact damage from its hardened melon shell.

As a planting surface, Melon Pot’s primary value is expanding grid coverage. Offensive plants placed on top of it gain terrain access they could not otherwise exploit, enabling roof and aquatic strategies that would be impossible without it.

While its direct combat contribution is minimal, Melon Pot earns its slot by enabling placement strategies that would otherwise be unavailable. Rooftop shooters, aquatic melon arrays, and cross-terrain formations all become viable when Melon Pot fills the foundation role.

Pros
Cons
Enables planting on roof, water, and other normally restricted terrain
Passive contact damage adds minor offense without extra maintenance
Affordable cost for a dual-purpose utility plant
Deals no active damage and cannot target zombies independently
Contact damage is negligible and unreliable as a defensive measure
Occupies a tile slot that could be used for a direct offensive plant
1 Use Melon Pot on roof tiles to place strong shooters in positions that are otherwise inaccessible.
2 Stack an offensive melon plant directly on Melon Pot to combine terrain access with amplified melon output.
3 On water tiles, Melon Pot can serve as a Lily Pad substitute with mild added passive damage.
4 Protect Melon Pot with a Pumpkin shell to keep the planting platform intact through heavy zombie waves.
QDoes Melon Pot actively shoot or target zombies?
No — it only deals passive contact damage to zombies walking over it and does not actively fire at enemies.
QCan plants be placed on top of Melon Pot?
Yes, placing compatible plants on Melon Pot grants them access to tiles that would otherwise not support planting.
QIs Melon Pot better than a standard Flower Pot?
Melon Pot provides the same terrain-access utility as Flower Pot with added passive contact damage, making it a minor improvement for the same general role.
